CardioRISC has been established to spearhead research into cardiovascular disease and healthcare, nationally and internationally.

The CardioRISC proposition is to drive research and teaching across the following themes.

Mobirise
  • Professional Network Development Fostering and supporting a community of scientists, clinicians and patient and public representatives engaged with developing our understanding of cardiovascular health, disease and care.
  • Digital Cardiology Developing enhanced modes of interaction between the patient and the clinic, using remote sensors, machine learning methods and algorithmic decision support to improve automated and self home-reporting of patient progress and engagement.
  • Biomarker & Therapeutic Target Detection Using machine learning and AI techniques to mine rich public and private data in order to identify new commericalisable diagnostics and prognostics of disease risk and the efficacy of treatment and to find molecular features of disease that corrected in therapies.
  • Therapy Development Creating and testing new therapeutics that target the molecular causes of disease.
  • Community Engagement Developing stronger Personal and Public Involvement and richer community engagement so that research outcomes can be tailored to community needs.
  • Teaching and Learning Creating new teaching and learning opportunities that deliver a skilled workforce who can independently and collaboratively drive advances
